The Work Involved

• Prepare and manage Building Control notices and inspections
• Engage Surveyor and Structural Engineer
• Produce detailed project plan
• Order materials, hire equipment and machinery
• Create access route to site at rear, create doorway entrance to basement
• Replace rear kitchen door with new window at rear
• Dismantle rear steps/extension

• Underpin walls on 3 sides of basement
• Install pillars and steel supporting beam to replace internal wall
• Excavate floor sections
• Lay a new concrete floor slab

• Create 2 new window apertures
• Close off restricted height space at rear of basement
• Install new windows and French doors
• Excavate all external drainage and repair/replace
• Install new basement drainage including protective drainage channel at entrance
• Create new access steps
• Make good wall render
• Install side fencing and gate to make rear entrance secure
• Remove all waste and soil excavations from site
